Svensk Medietext is the company in Sweden with the longest experience of live subtitling – that is, Swedish subtitles of Swedish speech in live broadcasts. Sweden’s fastest subtitlers produce subtitles in realtime for live events and TV broadcasters. A specially designed Velotype keyboard allows these highly trained subtitlers to type as fast as a person speaks.

Television is the primary market for live subtitles, and SVT, TV4 and Kanal 5 all rely on Svensk Medietext for the service. But increasingly we’re seeing a demand for live subtitling of livestream conferences and online broadcasts. For these applications, we often work with WestreamU, and the subtitler can work remotely or on-site at the conference.
